The big haircut!

Ella's hair was down to her waist and it was full of static electricity from the dry winter air. She suggested a haircut, and I explained the "Locks of Love" organization. We talked about her Aunt Gina's cancer, and how there are little girls her age who are also losing their hair during treatment.

"Let's do it," she said, and that was that.
We left gymnastics and headed to Cookie Cutters! She walked out with two 9-inch ponytails to send off to a great cause.

We got home and I thought Derek was going to cry. Then he did their baths that night and the 20 minutes it normally took to blow her hair dry...was only 5.

He's a fan!

Tumble, bounce

The gymnastics room at TWIGS smells like dirty little feet. And it's expensive.

But this place is filled with amazing teachers who are really (really!) good with kids, and the kiddos love learning how to tumble, bounce and swing from the bars. This is Ella's third year and Carson's first. They both clap in excitement from the back seat when we're on the drive there.

If they love it this much and it gets them some physical activity in the winter, then I say bring on the funk.
