Winter Gymnastics

Each year means swim lessons in the summer and gymnastics in the winter. Ella has recently requested that violin and dance lessons be added to the mix. We will look into it, but still stand by our "one activity at a time" rule in the Sands house. That being said, she LOVES gymnastics and seems to have developed a really nice sense of balance and coordination. And jumping. Lots and lots of JUMPING! That's her above, in the tiny black leotard and pink leggings.

23 weeks and It's a BOY!

Until now it's just been all about the frequent bathroom trips, a newfound and sudden love of Skyline Chili, and a few hormonal outbursts. This week, however, marks the first week that I am acutely aware of another tiny human inhabiting my body. While I love our little stowaway, I have to say that it's certainly easier to breathe, twist and roll over in bed when you are not being attacked by a miniature kickboxer :) To see how much he has grown in the last 4 weeks, scroll down a couple of entries. I think this one is going to take after his Dad in height.

Still, no complaints. This pregnancy is going MUCH better than with Ella...so I am hoping our good luck does not run out. We are thrilled to be having a boy!

A Visit to Naples

It was a long, cold January we decided to take a few days off work and get away one last time before the baby comes. We took Ella down to see Mom & Stan for a few days in Naples, Florida. It was sunny but very cold, so we had a great time just shopping, going to the zoo, painting, going out to dinner and relaxing. We did manage to find one sunny day on the beach, and we toasted the sunset each night as it disappeared into the Florida Gulf. Priceless.

Ella was so proud to carry her own baggage!

I got back to work on monday and found this on the whiteboard outside my office...
