Be mine??? (Valentine's Day 2008)

Every year, we send a valentine featuring our interpretation of love as we see it through Ella. This year, she was in a snuggly mood so I had her lay on a blanket. Derek and I tossed her stuffed animals into the picture. In less than twenty or thirty seconds, she was giddy with laughter.

The art studio is FINISHED!!

Derek and I lifeguarded and waited tables for years to afford the outrageously-priced art supplies we needed throughout college. Since then, we've moved the lot of them over NINE times, collectively. How nice to finally have a place in the house that's reserved especially for all this colorful loot and the creativity that goes with it.

Guess who's using it most? (fyi, the masterpiece below was titled "dolphin mommy jumping toward the sun")

A dreary January morning sent us in search of some indoor fun...so we hooked up with Heidi and headed for the natural history museum. In the first shot, Ella's digging in the recycled tire pit for giant dinosaur bones (and hasn't really stopped talking about it since then).

Ok, ok...so this was one gathering that did not include Ella, but it was great to have so many friends and family over to help ring in 2008.

Christmas 2007

We had a great Christmas...Ella got to hear Grandpa's annual reading of the birth of Jesus, and we made the rounds to play with cousins big and small.
